How the index works.

What is the AI Visibility Index?
A weekly ranking of which companies AI recommends when buyers ask who to pick, one board per category. It covers 489 companies in 23 categories, measured across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews.
How is a company's AI visibility measured?
Every day the same buyer questions for each category go to each AI platform, and every answer is checked for the companies it names. A company's AI visibility is the share of that week's answers naming it. The companies come from the answers, never from a list we chose.
How often is the index updated?
Scans run every day. Each Monday the previous Monday to Sunday is published as one score, because a single day's sample moves too much to publish as a company's number.
Why does every rate carry a range?
A week holds a few hundred answers per category, which cannot fix a rate to one decimal. The 95% range shows where the true rate likely sits. Two companies whose ranges overlap are level.
Can I use this data?
Yes. Every board has a CSV download, and the data is free to cite with a link to the board it came from.
